    Description

Hal Foster Prince Valiant Sunday Comic Strip #1122 Original Art, dated 8-10-58 (King Features Syndicate, 1958). This rousing episode is the first of three incredible, consecutive Sundays from the Prince Valiant storyline titled "Reckless Youth." The fury of the "Singing Sword" is unleashed in the final three panels of this episode as Val, in full berserker mode, slaughters a large part of the Saxon horde who had tortured and killed his friend, Edwin. The image area of this spectacular episode is 23" x 33.5". The top panel tier was cut from the page and later rejoined with tape on the back of the paper, there is some staining in the bottom panel tier, and some of the lettering in the last caption has slipped loose; otherwise, the art is in Very Good condition. From the Don Vernon Collection.
