Hal Foster Prince Valiant #250 Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 11-23-41 (King Features Syndicate, 1941). We have never had the privilege to offer a complete Prince Valiant from the years 1940-42 until today! In this wonderful example, Val at last returns to the Misty Isles that he had been seeking throughout the entire year of the strip. He wants another glimpse of Aleta who he had seen only briefly, and their meeting comes the following week. She had previously written him a note "No stranger may land on these shores and live," and here we see Val's reaction to the fate of his companions. The scale at which Hal Foster worked is just breath-taking. This Sunday has an image area of 26" x 34". The nine-panel grid is comprised of individual panels larger than most comic books! All the better to admire Foster's deft linework. Produced in ink over graphite with some red ink key lines on two pieces of conjoined Bristol board. Signed by Foster in the last panel, and also personalized and signed in panel three. There is slight tanning and handling wear, however, it is otherwise in Excellent condition. From A Collection of Great Cartoonists and Illustrators.
