Graham Ingels Vault of Horror #24 "With All the Trappings!" Complete 7-Page Story Original Art (EC, 1952). Elderly fur trapper Pierre, who is deathly afraid being buried in a cheap pine box that would rot away and expose the corpse to maggots and worms, loses his wife Maria. His plan to save her body until he can trap enough to get the needed $300 for a metal casket doesn't quite work out as planned -- naturally! "Ghastly" Graham Ingels had such a wonderful way of drawing dying faces twisted and distorted with pain -- what fun for kids with shiny dimes to spend on "funnybooks" back in 1952! His unique art was highly influential to modern horror comics artists like Bernie Wrightson, who seemed to absorb that creepy-cool Ingels touch so superbly and make it his own. Each page of this fright-fest was drawn in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an average per-page image area of 13" x 18". The boards are very lightly tanned with handling wear along the outer borders, but are otherwise in Excellent condition. Finding complete stories from the heyday of EC's glorious pre-Code horror output can't last too much longer, so don't let this one pass by, Fan-Addicts!
