Description

Gil Kane and Joe Giella Green Lantern #24 Story Page 12 Original Art (DC, 1963). From the introduction of the Shark -- a predatory villain who would become a recurring threat to Green Lantern. Kane and Giella, one of the near-perfect teams of the 1950s-'60s super-hero revival period, establish well the Shark's nefarious plot "to turn [Coast City] into my private hunting preserve!" Looks as though author John Broome was copping a riff from Richard Connell's classic story of 1924, "The Most Dangerous Game." Twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 13" x 19" (including photostatic paste-up header). Light toning, with a marginal issue-number notation in red ink and a small spot-stain at lower right. Very Good condition.
