Gil Kane and Ernie Chan Conan the Barbarian #35 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1974). Do you recognize this cover? Most readers of Marvel Comics from the 1970s will -- this iconic image of Conan was included in subscription ads that ran in every Marvel comic of the time period, making this one of the most recognizable shots of the Cimmerian barbarian ever created! Drawn by Gil Kane, one of comics most prolific artists, whose career began in the Golden Age of comics. Kane worked for over 50 years on practically every main character, for every major comics company. His dynamic art is easily recognizable and adorned many memorable covers. Here he lends his style to a dramatic cover featuring Conan defensively reacting to a sand demon. This cover, featuring creator Robert E. Howard's popular sword and sorcery hero, is rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10.75" x 16". Slightly toned, with stat logo, header, and text paste-ups, whiteout corrections, and light handling wear.
