George McManus Bringing Up Father Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 6-14-49 (King Features Syndicate, 1949). This hilarious daily features the relatively new technology (in 1949) of television, with open panels, great use of shadow in Panel 2, and clean line work, all the hallmarks of George McManus' work. The image area of this stylish daily is 18" x 5.25", and, aside from some light paper aging, soiling, and yellowed Zipatone, the ink over graphite on Bristol board piece is in Very Good condition. From A Collection of Great Cartoonists and Illustrators.
