    Description

    George Herriman archy does his part Interior Illustration Original Art (Doubleday Publishing., 1935). "You should have heard him roar - when I sunk my teeth in him." Although Herriman is famed for his work on his own comic strip Krazy Kat, he also provided covers and illustrations for several of the Don Marquis' archy and mehitabel books. This piece accompanied a poem by Archy titled "small talk". Crafted in ink (with some scratch board technique) on 6.25" x 9.25" Bristol board. Signed with an "H" in the lower right. There are glue stains in the upper corners and foxing in the image area and margins. In Good condition.
