Description
George Herriman archy and mehitabel Illustration Original Art (Doubleday, 1927). "mehitabel", i said, "your friend is nobody else than francois villon, and he looks it too." From the Archy poem "mehitabel meets an affinity", this image shows Mehitabel and her current fascination. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 7" x 5.25".
