    Description

Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Batman: The Dark Knight Returns #4 Story Page 25 Superman Original Art (DC, 1986). A key page in the story, as Superman takes the blast from a nuclear bomb! This groundbreaking series took mainstream comic books into an area previously only explored in alternative and small press book. It was a bold look at superheroes aimed at adult readers who were tired of the *Biff!* *Bam!* *Pow!* of years gone by. A striking and stark page, Miller and Janson's legendary artwork combined with Lynn Varley's colors for a devastating effect. The page was created twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 18". Panel 4 had an art correction by Miller, and the paste-up stat is loose, but included with the art. The page shows the un-altered art with minor glue residue in that panel. There is light glue residue over the Superman figure as well, suggesting a missing paste-up from that panel also. A classic page from one of the all-time greatest superhero comics, that is at the top of just about every original art collector's wish list! In Very Good condition.
