Description
Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Batman: The Dark Knight Returns #2 Page 41 Original Art (DC, 1986). We don't know what's more striking here, the cityscape and Bat-signal in panel one or the figures of Batman and Commissioner Gordon. Who but Miller could convey the nuances of a conversation using only silhouettes? And when Batman says "They have to be defeated. Humiliated!" readers knew this was a look at the character unlike anything that had been revealed before. In the final panel, Gordon is about to let the leader of the mutants escape so that Batman can face him in a fight and ultimately defeat him. Signed by both Miller and Janson at the bottom. Janson's signature is dated 6/86. This piece is in ink over graphite on Bristol board; it has an image area of 11.75" x 16".
