Frank King Gasoline Alley Sunday Comic Strip Hand-Colored Original Art (Chicago Tribune, 1924). A wonderfully sweet Sunday featuring Walt with Skeezix when he was just a 3-year-old! The art is charming and it was handsomely hand-colored by Frank King himself. In the 1960's, a museum in Florida wanted to do an exhibit of King's strips. Frank King then personally selected some of his best and then hand-colored them to presentation. So he drew this art in 1924 and then colored it 40 years later! Ink and watercolor over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 19" x 26.5". Plexiglas front framed to 28" x 36". In Excellent condition.
