    Description

Frank Frazetta - Original Preliminary Sketch for Midwood Paperback Series #2 of 2 (1962). After leaving his job as "ghost" artist on Li'l Abner in the early 1960s, Frazetta was offered a job doing a series of "girlie" wash drawings for Midwood Paperbacks in 1962. The drawings are sexy and sensational. Unfortunately, none of those published originals are known to exist, and all are presumed to be destroyed. Offered here is the second of two preliminary sketches offered in this sale that contain Frazetta's pencil studies for those wash drawings; this sheet features prelims for pages 2 and 59. Each study has been initialed by Frazetta and contain his handwritten captions for each image. 7" x 10" on thin paper.
