Frank Frazetta Ghost Rider #2 [A-1 Comics #29] Cover Original Art (Magazine Enterprises, 1950). Thought to be Frank Frazetta's first "solo" cover, ever! It is estimated that he only did 19 covers by himself, making any of them quite a gem in your collection. This one is exciting, stunning, and spooky! It is simply a breath-taking cover by a master illustrator from our field. It may have been Frazetta's first cover for Ghost Rider, but with the great action and eerie content, it is considered by many to be his best! Deft line work, fantastic use of white spaces and shadows... it has all the hallmarks of a classic image that will stay with you. Produced in twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 18". The logo is hand-painted on a stat paste-up. All other text is stat paste-ups. There is production glue residue near the paste-ups. The logo has been cut at the time of production to accommodate the whip, which is also a very thin paste-up. In Very Good condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
