Frank Frazetta At The Earth's Core Portfolio "Pellucidar" Illustration Original Art (Opar Press, 1968). A beautiful illustration, originally planned for the dust jacket of a mid-sixties Canaveral Press edition of Edgar Rice Burroughs' fabled "Hollow Earth" novel. There's little need to go on about the magnificent brush and pen ink work by Frazetta; he reigns without a doubt as the most important of all artists who illustrated ERB material. Just as many fantasy authors like Robert E. Howard owe a debt to Burroughs, so do many artists who have come along in Frazetta's wake. The piece is in ink and white paint on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 6.5" x 9.5" There is some handling wear, including the remnants of tape just outside the image area; the overall condition is Very Good. If owning a prime piece of Frazetta ERB art has been on your want list, your chance has arrived. There is writing and a rough graphite drawing on the reverse, for an added bonus -- like you needed one to bid on this masterpiece!
