    Description

Frank Brunner and Steve Leialoha Howard the Duck #1 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1976). The first page of Howard's own solo comic book! How does he celebrate? By contemplating suicide. This wasn't your normal Marvel comic book. Howard was truly "trapped in a world he never made". The story title was "Howard the Barbarian", and as was common for many of the early issues, it was a send-up of another Marvel comic character. The page was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15" (including the paste-up header and indicia). It is also signed by Frank Brunner just above Howard's tiny hat. Some discoloration in the indicia. In Excellent condition. Bid now or you will be saying "Waaaugh!"

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
