Floyd Gottfredson Mickey Mouse Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 2-23-32 (Walt Disney/King Features Syndicate, 1932). Horace Horsecollar is missing, and so is the $1,500 Mickey and the gang have collected, in this daily from the classic early Mickey Mouse storyline, "The Great Orphanage Robbery." If you're a fan of the original "pie-eyed" Mickey, this one has your name all over it! Mickey's in all four panels, joined in three by Minnie Mouse; both display great facial expressions and frantic body movements that really animate the strip. The art is in ink over graphite and blue pencil, drawn on two pieces of Bristol board for an overall image area of 26.5" x 5.625". The board has been trimmed close to the image area, and there is some soiling and tiny stains, as well as a small piece of yellowed tape in the bottom right corner of panel two, but these minor concerns take little away from the impact of this wonderful piece of Disney art, from the man most associated with drawing Mickey Mouse -- the legendary Floyd Gottfredson.
