    Description

    F. Newton Burcham Tarzan and the Leopard Men Original Art Illustration (1986). Tarzan defends the ever-present princess against the heinous leopard men (with claws borrowed from Wolverine, apparently). This huge illustration is unpublished, but would make a worthy addition to any Burroughs' fan's collection. Produced in ink and watercolor over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 19" x 124". Slight rippling from watercolor. Slight toning. In Excellent condition. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
