DescriptionEdgar Church Las Cruces Dairy Farm Decorative Advertisement Original Art (1942). Even when re-using a stock image (such as the bottle-hugging infant pictured here), master designer Church took pains to retouch or re-draw such fragments. That miniature image figures here as a collage-element in an overall ink drawing designed to promote a moo-juice factory in New Mexico. Note the reference to the availability of raw milk, a product that was eventually banned from interstate distribution. Church also is known for his development of the legendary Mile High Collection of first-generation comic books. Ink, collage elements, and painted white retouching over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 8" x 6.25". Light toning and noticeable peeling around paste-down image. Very Good condition.
