    Description

    E. C. Segar Thimble Theatre featuring Popeye Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 1-16-32 (King Features Syndicate, 1932). The second oldest Popeye strip that Heritage has ever offered! That squinky-eyed sailor had first appeared in this strip almost exactly three years previous to this, to the day! (1-17-1929). And he had already usurped this strip from the previous stars, Ham Gravy and Castor Oyl (Olive's brother). It was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board and has a matted image area of 19.5" x 4.25". It is glass front framed to 25" x 9.75". Signed in the last panel and in Excellent condition.
