    E. C. Segar Popeye and Sappo Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 3-28-37 (King Features, 1937). Jam thief Swee'Pea knows he has a whipping coming, so he takes special precautions, in this extra sweet Thimble Theater Sunday, signed in the final panel by Segar. Swee'Pea was rarely featured in the Sunday pages, but he takes center stage here. The art has an image area of approximately 20.5" x 16.5", and addition, the matching topper strip, Sappo, featuring Doc Wotasnozzle and the mind of poor Sappo transferred to a dog, is included, with an image area of 20.5" x 9.25". Both pieces are unframed and in Excellent condition. From the Art of the Funnies Collection.
