    Description

Dick Ayers and John Severin Capt. Savage and His Leatherneck Raisers #19 Story Page 18 Original Art (Marvel Comics, 1970). A bold finale for the Sgt. Fury spin-off, which had meshed seamlessly since 1968 with such other Marvel Universe properties as Captain America and The Fantastic Four. The story marks the last appearance of Capt. Savage -- until a revival in 2010 for the Fall of the Hulks series. Ayers' solid pencilling meshes well with Severin's brisk and character-rich inking. Signed by both artists (upper right). Note: Though formally trademarked as Capt. Savage and His Leatherneck Raiders, the issue and several before it are cover-flagged as Capt. Savage and His Battlefield Raiders. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 15". Excellent condition.
