Win Mortimer - Battle of the Planets #1 Cover Original Art (Whitman, 1979). The G-Force made their heroic debut in an American comic book with this dramatic Win Mortimer cover. G-Force was a band of five teenaged orphans named Mark, Jason, Princess, Keyop, and Tiny. G-Force's missions were launched from Center Neptune on Earth by a computerized assistant, 7-Zark-7. Aliens from the dying planet Spectra sought to conquer the Earth and its interstellar allies in order to steal their natural resources. The Spectrans' leader, The Great Spirit, controls his battle force through his underling, Zoltar, who cameos in an inset panel at the upper right. The image area of the art is approximately 13.5" x 19.5". The cover has a blue pencil indication for the title logo placement, but the logo stat is not attached to the art; otherwise the cover is in Excellent condition. From the Random House Archives.
