Description

Will Eisner The Spirit #34 Cover Original Art (Kitchen Sink Press, 1987). Not exactly the textbook way to impress on a first date, but trust Denny Colt, aka the Spirit, to spice up "A Day at the Beach" by wrestling a shark underwater. Will Eisner's most iconic creation, the Spirit blurred genre lines with fearless flair, and this 1980s Kitchen Sink Press series brought those classic tales to a new generation. The series mixed horror, comedy, romance, sci-fi, and more, all anchored by Eisner's groundbreaking approach to pacing, panel composition, and expressive storytelling. A true pioneer, Eisner helped elevate comics into a respected art form -- so much so, the industry's top award bears his name. Ink and white paint over blue pencil and graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 8.5" x 12.5". Light toning, whiteout corrections with partial loss to some areas, smudging, tape residue staining, and handling wear. Signed and dated by Eisner in the lower left image area. In Very Good condition.
From the Keif Fromm Estate.
