Werner Roth, Jack Kirby, and Dick Ayers The X-Men #26 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1966). Angel is down as the X-men face the power of Kukulcan! With Marvel Girl away at college, Cyclops, Beast, and Iceman have to figure out how to stop the reincarnated Mayan God. Artist Werner Roth got an assist on the art for the imposing ancient villain from none other than Jack "The King" Kirby, who still had a hand in the day-to-day output of the Marvel bullpen. Twice-up scale in ink over graphite and blue pencil on cover stock Bristol board with an image area of 13.25" x 20.25". There is slight toning, with stat logo and header paste-ups, as well as Iceman and Beast original art paste-ups. (The side of Cyclops is cut so the Beast paste-up is overlapped and slightly loose, showing original art underneath.) The Kukulcan figure is also an original art paste-up, with action lines and his headdress rendered over the stat logo. Staple holes in the top margin, small tears on the left and bottom edges, creasing, residue and spot staining, with edge/handling wear. In Very Good condition.Lookup the Comic Book in our Guide
