Description

Wendel Alan Pugh (as "Goo") SNARF #2 Unpublished Cover Original Art (Kitchen Sink Press, 1972). Underground Comix enthusiasts will remember SNARF #2 for its striking SF-parody cover by Jay Lynch. This once-prospective alternate cover design (unpublished) by Pugh takes a more phallic approach -- note the character's pronounced nose. Pugh figures in Underground history as the creator of Googiewaumer (sic) Comics, a low-profile title that appeared in two editions in 1969. Ink and white paint over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 9" x 13.5". Very Good condition, with adhesive seams and marginal tearing.
From the Denis Kitchen Collection.
