Description

Wally Wood Tales From The Crypt #27 Cover Original Art (EC, 1951). A cover to lose your head over! It matches Wood's fine figure work with a horror-themed foreground and a highly-detailed background. The eye-grabbing cover was rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13.5" x 19.25". The logo and all masthead dressing are stat paste-ups, as are the floating heads of the Crypt-Keeper, the Old Witch, and the Vault-Keeper on the sidebar. The horror hosts have minor ink touch-ups, likely to clean up the stats and blend them into the background art. There is handling wear and soiling in the margins, with some glue residue near the paste-ups and the top right corner. The board under the logo is sliced through the board in four places. Overall in Very Good condition.
