Description
Wally Wood Shock SuspenStories #4 Cover Original Art (EC, 1952). Wally Wood's ability to express danger and terror with his art made him an invaluable member of EC's powerful talent pool. Even though this pre-Code cover is not intensely gory, it still manages a very visceral grab on your emotions. The twice-up scale masterpiece is large even by typical EC Comics cover standards. It was created in ink with red keylines over graphite with blue pencil shading on EC Bristol board. Signed in the lower left of the 13.5" x 19.25" image area. The entire masthead and the cover caption are both stat paste-ups. The board is lightly toned and in Very Good condition.The Richard Pujol EC Art Collection.
