DescriptionVince Colletta True Secrets #39 Cover Original Art (Marvel/Atlas, 1956). Think you know Vince Colletta artwork? This amazing and lovely twice-up cover (one of only a few we have ever offered that was entirely penciled and inked by Colletta), may cause you to think again! He is remembered for the tons of super-hero work he turned out, a great portion of it inking Jack Kirby's bombastic artwork. Here he shows what a deft, clean and crisp line he can draw. There is a reason he was called Vince "The Prince". The logo, all text, and the (huge) Comics Code stamp are all stat paste-ups. They have discolored some, and the logo has cracks and creases through much of it. (That stamp is 2" x 2.5"! Bigger than the characters' heads.) The bride's bouquet and the heart-shaped caption box are original art paste-ups. There is some production tape residue and a small rip on the side margins, with overall tanning. The twice-up scale board has an image area of 13.5" x 20". There is also a small nick in the left side margin. Overall in Very Good condition.
