Unknown artist - Original Cover Art for Terry and the Pirates #22 (Harvey, 1950). Milton Caniff's Terry and the Pirates entertained millions and as early as 1939 this influential strip was being reprinted in comic book form. Harvey Comics began printing their Terry series in 1947 and the book ran until 1955 ending with issue #28. Here is an excellent cover from 1950, featuring Hotshot Charlie trying to woo a pretty ingenue, much to the amusement of his friends. The original illustration is 11" x 16" mounted onto an 11.5" x 16" board. Includes a re-production of the original logo and indicia.
