Unknown artist - Original Cover Art for Dick Tracy #96 (Harvey, 1957). Chester Gould's ground-breaking comic strip series was collected into comic book form by Harvey Comics beginning with issue #25, published in 1950. The artist is unmentioned, but the style is true to the Gould comic pantheon with its thick lines and that classic Tracy profile. The overall size is 10.5" x 15" on a piece of 13" x 17.5" illustration board. The art includes the original Harvey Comics logo paste-up and shows some minor signs of aging, a slight stain from a missing part of the indicia and some slight white-out use in the section above Tracy's head. The Dick Tracy logo is a recent replacement photocopy.
