Description
Todd McFarlane Marvel Tales #231 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1989). Spidey prepares to stop Thermo as he sucks the life out of Paladin on this cover by superstar artist Todd McFarlane. Supplying covers to the Spider-Man reprint title while building a huge following as the series artist on Amazing Spider-Man, McFarlane was hitting his stride drawing everyone's favorite web-slinger. The issue reprints Marvel Team-Up #108 (1981). A special feature of this cover is the Spidey profile drawn by McFarlane in the UPC box, which was unseen as it was covered by the regular newsstand/direct box print. Ink over blue pencil on DC cover stock Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". Slight toning, whiteout corrections, with light smudging and handling wear. Signed by McFarlane in the lower image area, bottom margin, and remarqued with a spider in the upper image area. In Excellent condition.More information about Todd McFarlane.
