Description
Todd McFarlane and Chance Wolf Riot Magazine #1 Spawn Unpublished Cover Original Art (Metropolis Publishing, 1997). A definitive portrait of Spawn -- cape billowing, chains lashing, spiked gauntlets raised, and necroplasmic energy coursing -- rendered by his legendary creator, Todd McFarlane. According to the included Certificate of Authenticity, McFarlane, with an assist from Chance Wolf, created this powerful image as the cover for Riot Magazine #1. However, despite extensive research, no evidence has been found confirming that this detailed illustration was ever used for that publication -- at least, not as a cover. Created in ink and white paint over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 16.25". Light smudging and minor handling wear. Signed and dated by McFarlane and Wolf within the image area, with an additional McFarlane signature in gold at the top left. In Excellent condition.More information about Todd McFarlane.
