Description
Todd McFarlane Amazing Spider-Man #309 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1988). A lovely portrait of Mary Jane graces this cover featuring that friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and introducing the not-so-friendly villains Styx and Stone. McFarlane's charismatic artwork revitalized this franchise for Marvel in a way that no one suspected. He had only begun doing the art on this title eight months prior and was already a fan-favorite. This page is signed by McFarlane three times... once in the original artwork, then twice more in the bottom margin. Many collectors have a McFarlane ASM cover on their want lists, and this one, acquired from the artist back in the 1990s, has been locked away in a collection since that time. Produced in ink over blue pencil on Marvel Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". All text is stat paste-ups.
