DescriptionSheldon Moldoff All-American Comics #16 Cover Recreation Original Art (1993). Moldoff hit one out of the park his first time up -- his very first published piece appeared in Action Comics #1! From 1938 until his retirement, Shelly drew thousands of comic pages, including many Batman stories (ghosting for Bob Kane). This iconic All-American Comics #16 cover, which introduced the original Green Lantern in 1940, is perhaps his most famous. We've reported before that the figure of GL leaping to action here was inspired by a panel in the January 22 1939 Flash Gordon comic strip, but it's still a powerful image. This stunning 1993 recreation of that cover was done in animation art style by inking and painting the images onto a sheet of clear acetate, which has been matted (with an opening of 10.5" x 13.5"), and placed over a blue paper background which has been signed and dated. The mat size is 14" x 18", and the art is in Excellent condition.
