Roy G. Krenkel Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tales of Three Planets Final Book Cover Illustration Original Art (Canaveral Press, 1969). Roy G. Krenkel set a new standard of excellence for fantasy art with this brilliant cover scene drawn for Canaveral Press' Tales of Three Planets. Krenkel's published art for the famed Canaveral Press editions and the Ace Burroughs series introduced Burroughs to an entire new generation, and are extremely rare and highly sought after. Tales was an unusual collection, published long after Burroughs had died. It features these four tales, "The Resurrection of Jimber-Jaw" (1937), "Beyond the Farthest Star" (1942), "Tangor Returns" (1964), and "The Wizard of Venus" (1964). The Jimber-Jaw yarn was initially published in Argosy. This stunning example is the first Krenkel cover from Canaveral we've had the pleasure to offer. This pen and ink masterpiece has an overall size of 7.5" x 11", and it has been matted to an overall size of 11" x 14". The art is in Excellent condition. Initialed "RGK" at the lower right.
