DescriptionRoss Andru Marvel Team-Up #61 Spider-Man and Human Torch Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1977). Spidey asks "Why are the Fantastic Four trying to kill me?" Maybe because it's really the Super-Skrull! This issue featured one of Marvel's first "buddy book" teams... Spider-Man and the Human Torch! The top margin identifies the pencils on this as by Ross Andru (the online image can be enlarged to see this). The inker is uncertain; however the Grand Comics Database credits this cover as by Al Milgrom and Joe Sinnott. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". All logos, header, corner box art, and text are stat paste-ups. There is glue residue and some tape on them and the piece. There is a minor amount of soiling on the right side, a crease in the lower right image area, and overall toning. The cover is in Very Good condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.View More Testimonials
