DescriptionRoss Andru and Dick Giordano Action Comics #490 Cover Original Art (DC, 1978). "The Vision That Drove Superman Mad!" An out-of-control Man of Steel is a common plot twist that always stokes fan interest. Fans also love that Andru art, especially with Giordano inks on it. Crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". All text on the cover (including the DC bullet, logos, and price box info) are all stat paste-ups... some of which are coming loose on the edges. No worries, however, as the piece is matted and Plexiglas front framed to 16" x 21". There is an original art correction paste-up in the lower right. The cover is toned and in Very Good condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.View More Testimonials
