Description

Ron Frenz and Joe Rubinstein Amazing Spider-Man #259 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1984). Spider-Man returns to his old red-and-blue costume! His alien symbiote costume was in the hands of Reed Richards for study. The cover is an homage to the Jack Kirby cover for Tales of Suspense #39. Mary Jane Watson and the Hobgoblin also appear. The cover was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". The logo, corner box, bottom panel on the left, and all text are all stat paste-ups. The cover is signed by both Frenz (twice) and Rubinstein in the lower margin. The page is toned, with staple holes in the top margin. There is some extremely minor foxing in the lower right corner. Overall in Very Good condition. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.
