Robert Crumb The People's Comics Inside Front Cover Original Art (Golden Gate Publishing Company, 1972). It's not his fault! This inside front cover by R. Crumb is a one-page strip, "On the Street with Shuman the Human," credited to "Max 'n' Bob Crumb." Maxon Crumb is Robert's younger brother, and the original inspiration for Shuman the Human. Max spent years panhandling on the streets of San Francisco, and has dealt with a number of mental problems and disorders, including epileptic seizures; he has since become a well-known artist and author. In this strip, a much more together-looking Shuman encounters a babbling eccentric who tells him things like "Bugs don't drive cars." It's a nice slice of everyday crazy city life from the brothers, drawn by Robert in ink on Bristol board with an image area of 8" x 12.5". Matted and glass front framed to 16" x 19". In Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
