Description

Robert Crumb ID #1 Cover Original Art (Eros/Fantagraphics, 1990). It's the dirty little part of your brain that wants to do unspeakable naughty things, the dark part of everyone's psyche -- it's the id! Here's the original cover art to the first of three ID comics published by Fantagraphics, loaded with sexually-charged art from Robert's personal sketchbooks. This cover is in ink and whiteout on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 9.5" x 13.5". Crumb reworked his original vision of the little id creature considerably; if you look at the page on a lightbox or hold the art up to the light from behind, you can see the outline of a much-larger and more vicious-looking monster. Yikes! There's very little handling wear on the art, but extensive whiteout use; otherwise, Excellent condition. Signed in the lower left. From the Graham Nash Collection.
