Robert Crumb Artistic Comics (#nn) Back Cover Original Art (Golden Gate Publishing Company, 1973). "The Artist and his Muse" are cleverly depicted in this self-referential self-portrait by the Godfather of Underground Comix, Mr. R. Crumb. The limber lassie is the epitome of the thick legged "Crumb Woman" physique. The cavorting and contorting cartoon was reprinted in the 1976 Kitchen Sink reprint, and then again in both the third and fourth printing of that comic, as well as appearing in the 1992 The Complete Crumb Comics #9 "R. Crumb Versus the Sisterhood". The art was created in ink over graphite on top bound spiral art paper with an image area of 8" x 12". Signed and dated in the lower right. There are some minor dots that seem to be coffee stains on the right side and right margin.
