Robert Crumb and Bill Griffith Arcade the Comics Revue #3 Cover Original Art (Print Mint, 1975). R. Crumb goes old school with this simple but superb cover, featuring a beatnik-type who finds beauty in a falling leaf caught in the wind. It showcases one of Crumb's trademark gimmicks, a grim city skyline filled with old tenement buildings, power lines, and water towers, as an ugly counterpoint to the beauty of nature. It's a powerful image! The art is in ink over very light graphite on a sheet of sketchbook paper, with an approximate image area of 10.5" x 13". The "Arcade" masthead logo is a touched-up production photostat; the circular insert featuring Zippy the Pinhead is original artwork by Bill Griffith, on a separate piece of paper or Bristol in ink and whiteout over graphite, pasted into position; it measures approximately 2.5" x 2.5". The art is matted and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 16" x 21.5". Very Good condition. This cover art was featured in Yeah, But Is It Art?, a deluxe museum catalog book of R. Crumb art published in Germany, in 2004. From the Eric Sack Collection.
