Description

Richard Sala Black Cat Crossing Cover Original Art (Kitchen Sink Press, 1993). Sala (1959-2020) leaves an artistic legacy of wit and mystery and horror to stand with those of such art nouveau marvels as Aubrey Beardsley and Edward Gorey. Here is one of Sala's most haunting images -- the unadorned cover for a selection of short-story oddities involving ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances. Ink and watercolor over graphite on Bristol board. The dimensions are 9.25" x 14". Slightly wavy throughout due to watercolor warpage. Adhesive residue at left and right borders. Production tape at the upper margin. A slight bend at upper left. Residue on the upper reverse. Ink spot on the reverse lower right corner. Signed with a 2003 post-date, with a skull drawing on the reverse upper margin; otherwise, in Excellent condition.
