DescriptionPaul Smith Uncanny X-Men #165 Cover Storm Original Art (Marvel, 1983). Paul Smith's clean and crisp lines were a natural hit on the X-Men... and this was just the first of only 10 covers he would do for the powerhouse title. Here, one of the most beloved of the "All-New, All-Different" X-Men is transformed into one of the alien Brood. This transformation has heretofore always been a one-way change that resulted in the death of the host character. So Ororo's fans were justifiably worried. The cover is as gorgeous as it is grotesque, but what a powerful image! It is produced in ink over graphite on Marvel Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". There is a section of Storm's torso that is an original art paste-up created on a section of Bristol board. The logo and corner box are original paste-up. The cover is signed by Paul Smith in the image area, and it is also signed by Marvel's Editor-in-Chief, Jim Shooter, in the check-off box in the bottom margin. The cover is lightly tanned, with some pinholes in the margins, otherwise in Excellent condition.
