Paul Fung Jr. Blondie Comics Monthly #18 Cover Original Art (Harvey Comics, 1950). The byline cites Chic Young (creator of the Blondie comic strip), but the style is unmistakably that of Fung, Young's assistant (since 1949) and the principal artist on the comic-book spinoff. The art is astonishingly well preserved, given the deterioration of the logotype area and the absence of paste-up text. In the missing balloons, Daisy (the dog) is saying, "G-r-r," and her pups are snoring: "Z-Z-Z." The faded text at lower right reads: "All-New Blondie Stories 'Specially Written and Drawn for This Issue!" Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 14". Moderate toning, with pronounced adhesive staining. One narrow horizontal black line at lower left quadrant. Very Good condition.
