Norman Mingo Hopping MAD Paperback Cover Painting Original Art (Signet Books, 1961). A well-remembered image from one of the early MAD paperbacks, it was well titled. Most fans were hopping MAD after realizing they had just shelled out 95¢ and there was not a single kangaroo in the book! Mingo's fantastic art saved many an issue of this crummy magazine, and did so again here. Brilliantly rendered in gouache over graphite, it has an image area of approximately 13" x 19". It is matted and glass front framed to 24.5" x 31". The board is lightly toned, with an abrasion in the top left and some foxing in that area also. There is a bit of paint flecking on Alfred E. Neuman's sleeve. Overall, in Very Good condition.
