DescriptionNick Cardy - The Unexpected #140 Cover Original Art (DC, 1972). In the 1970s, Nick Cardy supplied DC with most of their best cover images, handing in exciting artwork in virtually any genre they threw at him. Offered here is a spectacular cover from DC's mystery line, a classic image of something horrible lurking in the basement, and an unsuspecting victim coming down the stairs. The mysterious tendrils eminating from this bizarre creature seem to pulse with life and energy, and are a superbly graphic design by Cardy, somewhat suggestive of the pop art sensibility of the time. A truly tremendous piece, in Excellent condition, this Bronze Age classic is a must for Cardy fans. The image size is approximately 10" x 15".
