DescriptionNeal Adams Studios (attributed) Conan the Barbarian: The Crawler in the Mists [Book and Record Set] #PR31 Unused Cover Original Art (Peter Pan, 1976). Although similar in concept and content, this cover design is very different from the published work, suggesting that it had to be redesigned for format or to accommodate more cover text. This original Len Wein/J. M. DeMatteis story was eventually reprinted in Conan the Barbarian #116 in 1980 (and we have the original art for the cover of that issue in this same sale). This artwork was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13.5" x 10.5". There is a .75" rip in the bottom margin (and crease) just up to the image area. There is a small crease in the marginal top right corner, and there is a smudge in the image area above Conan's head, on the left portion. Overall, in Very Good condition.
