Description
Neal Adams Batman #226 Cover Original Art (DC Comics, 1970). Long before the gritty, ultra-realistic style that is currently status quo in comics became so popular, Neal Adams introduced his own brand of realism. Opening the door wide for all those who followed, he consequently changed the way we looked at our heroes. His work with Batman gave us a whole new perspective on the Dark Knight legend, and his numerous Bat covers on the Batman and Detective Comics titles were spectacular. This covers spotlights and introduces the new Bat-enemy, Philip "Ten-Eyed" Reardon, and gives deeper meaning to "blind as a bat." A printed copy of the comic is included. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The title, dressing, and all text are paste-ups, ink scratches in Reardon's hands for effect, faint toning on the side edges, a toning spot at the top left corner, a small tear at the right center edge, and whiteout.
