Description
Neal Adams Action Comics #374 Cover Superman Original Art (DC, 1969). Neal Adams covers from this period were emotional and angst-ridden. And this is a great example! The Man of Steel is moonlighting as Public Enemy #1 in the story "Alias Super-Thief!" This was the third part of a story that began in issue #371 involving Superman getting amnesia and assuming other identities as he had forgotten he was Clark Kent. The cover was rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The header and logo are all a paste-up stat. Part of the Superman figure in the stat was trimmed out to re-use on another title. There is a rip and crease over the Supergirl figure in the logo stat. All text in the art area is hand-lettered.
